As a Counselor, you will play a vital role in helping families navigate the complex, time-consuming, challenging and stressful process of preparing for college, trade school or skilled work. This requires strong communication skills and knowledge of higher-ed and skilled work expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives by providing expert counseling services in a supportive and engaging environment. Experience in education, school counseling or higher-education, preferred. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand clients' needs, preferences, limitations and goals. Develop personalized counseling plans tailored to each individual's unique circumstances. Maintain detailed documentation of goals, executions, research findings, information gathered, plans and data. Reach out to colleges/universities, employers, trade schools and stay abreast of the their expectations and requirements. Skills Proven ability to plan short and long-term planning actions geared toward children's school and/or work choices. Excellent interviewing skills for assessing client needs and establishing rapport quickly. Demonstrated mentoring capabilities for guiding families and their child. Compassionate communicator with active listening skills and the ability to motivate others positively. Ability to work collaboratively with parents. children, teachers and college and trade school administrators.

PREFERRED

Work in a college admissions' capacity.

REQUIRED

At LEAST a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of work experience.
