HS Math & ACT/SAT Exam Prep Teacher/Tutor

We offer children and adults tutoring in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Study Skills, Phonics, Vocabulary, Science, Test Prep, High School Entrance Exam preparation, and SAT/PSAT, and ACT preparation. Requirements include:

Bachelor's degree required. Teacher's Certification or teaching experience is preferred. If no teaching experience, must have 2+ year of teaching experience.

Duties:

• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to students in High School math subjects, or test preparation
• Implement lesson plans provided by Huntington
• Administer Academic Evaluation test, or practice tests to know about students' academic progress
• Assist students with homework assignments and test preparation
• Available to teach during after school hours during the week, and/or over the weekend for limited hours if needed. Minimum 2 hours a week.
• You are required to come in person for most of the tutoring sessions.

There will be an opportunity of remote sessions depends on the individual student.

Experience:

• Previous experience working with students in a classroom, or tutoring setting
• Familiarity with different learning styles and strategies for engaging students
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special education needs
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
