Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Hybrid K 6 Tutor/Educator 2 Positions Available Job Location Brevard County, Florida (In-person and Online) This is an independent contractor/business opportunity and does not establish an employee/employer relationship. Will receive
IRS 1099
form and will be responsible for own withholding taxes.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree (required) Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience in a public school setting Valid Florida State Teaching Certificate covering appropriate grade levels and subject areas Experience teaching kindergarten through grade 6 students Content knowledge in elementary math and science Tutor students in-person within Brevard County, Florida Conduct online tutoring sessions using virtual learning platforms Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and/or weekends as needed Access to transportation for in-person sessions Legally authorized to work in the United States
REQUIRED SKILLS
Verbal and written communication skills Engage and connect with students of varying ages, abilities, and learning styles Instructional skills in elementary-level math and science Break down complex concepts into age-appropriate instruction Proficiency using technology for virtual instruction Classroom/session management skills (1-on-1 and small groups) Organizational and time management skills Monitor, track, and report student progress accurately and on time Interpersonal skills to collaborate with management and families Patience, emotional intelligence, and professionalism when working with children Problem-solving and decision-making skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide high-quality tutoring instruction to K-6 students in math and science (in-person and online) Deliver instruction in 1-on-1 or small group settings (2-4 students) Plan and prepare instructional sessions that meet individual student needs, interests, and abilities Use effective instructional strategies aligned with students learning styles Utilize technology and digital tools to enhance online learning sessions Maintain a structured, engaging, and positive learning environment Monitor student engagement and ensure students remain on task during sessions Assess student progress regularly and diagnose learning strengths and areas for growth Track, analyze, and use student data to set and achieve learning goals Communicate student progress to parents and/or students in a timely manner via email or phone Complete all required documentation, reports, and records accurately and on time Collaborate with management to review student data and improve instructional outcomes Attend scheduled tutoring sessions consistently and on time Maintain professional relationships with students, parents, management, and other instructors Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Desktop Educators LLC Job Type Part-Time, Contract Pay $40.00 - $50.00 per hour Work Schedule Flexible schedule; sessions conducted in-person and online
