We are seeking passionate, reliable, and student-centered tutors across Hawaii to provide high-quality academic support to K-12 students through in-person, online, and hybrid tutoring opportunities. Whether you are a certified teacher, retired educator, college graduate, or experienced tutor, we are looking for individuals who are committed to helping students grow academically, emotionally, and personally. ME Education - TutorJourney partners directly with schools and communities to provide personalized, mastery-based tutoring that supports students where they are while helping them move toward grade-level success and beyond. Our tutors are mentors, encouragers, role models, and learning advocates who understand that relationships come first. This is a flexible, paid opportunity with weekday, afterschool, evening, Saturday, and summer tutoring options available depending on school and community needs. Responsibilities Deliver engaging and personalized tutoring sessions aligned to the students' academic needs and learning goals Support students in building confidence, study skills, organization, and positive learning habits Provide tutoring in one-on-one or small group settings in-person, online, or through hybrid formats Utilize standards-based instructional strategies and adapt lessons for different learning styles and abilities Track student progress and communicate growth, concerns, and successes with families, teachers, and TutorJourney staff Foster a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment where students feel supported and valued Incorporate educational technology and digital learning tools to increase student engagement Maintain professionalism, reliability, and strong communication with school staff and families Support students academically while also encouraging social-emotional growth and resilience Participate in TutorJourney trainings, collaboration opportunities, and ongoing professional development as needed Preferred Qualifications Current or previous teaching certification preferred Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate degree candidates with strong experience are encouraged to apply Experience working with K-12 students in tutoring, teaching, mentoring, intervention, childcare, or educational settings Strong understanding of reading, math, writing, or core academic content areas Familiarity with online learning platforms and educational technology tools Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff Experience supporting diverse learners, including English Learners and students receiving additional academic support, is a plus Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills Passion for helping students succeed and belief that all students can grow with the right support What We Offer Flexible scheduling opportunities In-person, online, and hybrid tutoring options Competitive hourly pay Opportunities to work directly with local schools and communities Ongoing training and professional development Supportive leadership and collaborative team culture The opportunity to make a lasting impact in students' lives Our Mission To bring personalized, mastery-based tutoring directly to schools, ensuring each student receives the academic and emotional support needed to achieve success—while uplifting educators and communities through connection, purpose, and excellence.
