Staff/Administration, Academic Year, Academic Success, Campus Based Summary Meets with students individually or in small groups to provide academic support related to course content, course-related readings and course-related written assignments so students can successfully complete their coursework; as well as provides instruction, teaching and guidance in the area of academic success skills Essential Job Functions Tutors students on specific course content, course-related readings and course-related written assignments Tutors students in the area of academic success skills (e.g. learning strategies, time management, etc.) Coordinates tutoring goals with advisers, academic counselors and faculty to effectively meet student needs Attends tutor training sessions and staff meetings, as applicable Administers individualized tests to students with accommodations Performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Minimum of a bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related field of study (e.g., statistics, economics, engineering, or other sciences requiring math proficiency) Ability to tutor subjects such as, but not limited to, freshman algebra, math for liberal arts majors, precalculus and statistics Ability to work daytime hours on weekdays and work on occasional weekends for special events Preferred Qualifications Experience tutoring or teaching students Proficiency in statistics
