  • Full-time About the Family We are a warm, busy San Antonio family of five hiring a full-time, live-in private homeschool teacher to lead the curriculum for our three children, who will be entering 1st, 5th, and 6th grade in Fall 2026.
We value academic excellence, traditional structure, character development, and travel. We are looking for an exceptional educator who will become a trusted, long-term member of our household. About the Role You will design and deliver a complete, traditional, standards-based curriculum across math, language arts, science, history, and Spanish for all three children. Our goal is for them to advance 1-2 grade levels ahead of their age and graduate high school early, while developing strong character, fluency in Spanish, and a love of learning. Responsibilities Plan and teach a full daily curriculum across all core subjects (math, language arts, science, history, Spanish, character education). Combine group lessons (read-alouds, science, history, Spanish) with individualized instruction tailored to each child's level and pace. Assess each child regularly and accelerate them through grade-level material as they demonstrate mastery. Provide weekly written progress updates and quarterly reports to parents. Travel with the family (6-10 weeks per year, in segments) and continue instruction on the road, enriching lessons with travel experiences. Maintain classroom structure, build study habits and executive function skills. Coordinate with outsourced specialists (advanced math, music) as the children progress. Schedule 30-40 hours per week of instruction and planning, year-round Two full days off per week, including one weekend day 6 weeks total paid time off annually, coordinated with the family Flexibility for non-standard hours (occasional late starts, evening blocks, or weekend make-up days during travel) Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree (education, teaching subject, or related field) Comfort and competence teaching across the full K-8 academic range, including pre-algebra and middle-school writing and science Traditional, mastery-based approach to instruction Excellent organization, written communication, and time management Genuine enjoyment of children and the energy to lead three students through a full school day Clean background check and verifiable references Eligible to work in the United States (or already located in the U.S. with valid work authorization) Preferred Qualifications Fluency in Spanish (native, heritage, or near-native) — strong advantage Homeschool, microschool, or multi-age teaching experience Familiarity with Saxon Math, Sonlight, BJU Press, Apologia Science, or IEW (Institute for Excellence in Writing) Experience traveling with families or working in residential settings Familiarity with standardized assessment (Iowa Test, Stanford Achievement Test) Benefits $40,000
