Job Description

Volunteer Tutor at
THE TUTORIAL CENTER
in BENNINGTON, Vermont, United States Job Description
Volunteer Opportunity:
Support Students on the Path to Their Diploma or GED The Tutorial Center in Bennington is looking for caring, community-minded volunteers to spend time each week supporting students who are working toward earning their high school diploma or preparing for the GED. For more than 50 years, The Tutorial Center has been a nonprofit Adult Education and Literacy organization dedicated to helping students achieve their academic and career goals. Our programs include an Adult Diploma Program and GED preparation, college readiness, tutoring, workforce development, and English Language Learning (ELL). For decades, we've been opening doors of opportunity for Vermonters of all ages. We're currently seeking volunteers who would like to meet weekly with students who need a little extra support in their studies. This is a wonderful way to give back to the community while helping someone take an important step toward their future. What volunteering looks like: Meet with a student weekly to provide encouragement and academic support Share your knowledge, creativity, and life experience Help strengthen and uplift your own community No teaching experience is necessary—just patience, encouragement, and a willingness to help someone learn. Flexible commitment: Volunteers can contribute anywhere from 1 to 4 hours per week, and schedules can be adapted to fit your availability. By volunteering, you'll have the chance to share your expertise and creativity with students from your own community—reinforcing the strength and connection that makes our communities thrive. Please note: A background check will be required for all volunteers. If you're looking for a meaningful way to make a difference, we would love to welcome you to the TTC volunteer community. Together, we can continue opening doors of opportunity for learners of all ages. Interested in learning more or signing up? Contact us today!
