Job Description
Would you like to help children learn to read? Do you want to give back to your community? Do you want to earn money to help with college costs or student loans? Do you want to gain a great experience to strengthen your resume? Madison Elementary in Olympia, Washington, is recruiting 2 Washington Reading Corps (WRC) members for the 2026-2027 school year. If you are interested in gaining professional experience in schools and tutoring students in literacy full time, we are looking for you. If selected, you will: Collaborate with Madison's reading specialist to extend the literacy program at Madison Tutor small groups of students in reading throughout the school day Receive training in literacy Coordinate volunteers from the community for our Reading Buddy program Plan family literacy events This full-time position runs from September 1, 2026 to July 15, 2027 . Madison is a warm and caring community. We are looking for applicants with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a desire to make a difference in the lives of kids.
