Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate has a background in teaching in public or private schools, lives in Kitsap County, is retired or financially flexible, even with only a few tutoring lessons per week initially. We are a relatively new tutoring academy in Kitsap County and plan to expand via partnerships with local educational institutions. You will be responsible for providing personalized instruction to K-12 students (primarily elementary and middle school), helping them achieve their academic goals, and supporting the academy's expansion. This role requires a strong understanding of individualized tutoring and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet learners' diverse needs. You will work closely with students, parents, and educators to foster a supportive learning environment. Duties Utilize learning technology and educational resources to enhance the tutoring experience. Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in various subjects, ensuring comprehension and retention of material. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary to facilitate improvement. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding student performance and areas for growth. Maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation and motivation. Help develop and implement individualized and standardized lesson plans. Assist with curriculum development and lesson planning to align with educational standards. Skills Strong background in tutoring, teaching, or classroom management. Experience working with children or adults in an educational setting. Familiarity with special education practices and early childhood education principles is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information to students and parents. Ability to manage diverse learning needs through differentiated instruction techniques. Proficiency in lesson planning and curriculum development that fosters student engagement.
