Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Official/Referee to oversee basketball games and ensure fair play in accordance with established rules and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the game, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have experience working with children in a sports environment. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of the game and fostering a positive atmosphere for all participants. Duties Officiate basketball games, ensuring adherence to rules and regulations. Make quick and fair decisions regarding fouls, violations, and other game-related issues. Communicate effectively with players, coaches, and spectators to explain calls and maintain order during games. Manage conflicts that may arise on the court, utilizing conflict management skills to de-escalate situations. Collaborate with other officials to ensure consistent enforcement of rules throughout the game. Provide guidance and support to young athletes, promoting sportsmanship and teamwork. Skills Strong knowledge of basketball rules and gameplay mechanics. Experience in sports coaching or officiating is highly desirable. Excellent conflict management abilities to handle disputes calmly and effectively. Outstanding communication skills to engage with players, coaches, and parents positively. Previous experience working with children in a sports setting is preferred.
