Sports Associate - Johnson YMCA

Coordinates, supports, and assists with various aspects of youth clinic programs. This includes but is not limited to basketball, flag football, soccer, softball, tumbling and volleyball.

Essential Functions:

• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practice and games.
• Represents the YMCA and maintains appropriate relationships with members, parents and youth.
• Assists with leadership of volunteer coaches.
• Assists in the monitoring of inventory of department's equipment and ensures effective, safe use.
• Assists in daily sports operations.
• Serves as a positive role model to all participants.
• Keeps score for game.
• Perform all safety and emergency procedures as needed.
• Applies YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to best practices, emergency procedures, medical and disciplinary situations, and child abuse prevention.
• Ensures the health and safety of all members/guests.
• Inspect physical space to ensure the safety, orderliness, sanitation, and cleanliness of facilities.

Qualifications:

1. At least 16 years of age. 2. Must possess a strong work-ethic. 3. Ability to multi-task during high traffic time periods 4. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. 5. Must pass Level 2 Background Screening. Level 2 is a fingerprint check of state and federal criminal history information conducted through the Florida Department of law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
