Job Description

To preside over competitive and recreational athletic or sporting events to help maintain standards of play. Weekdays and Saturdays (times and days vary)
Hourly Rate:
$12-$26 (softball, volleyball, basketball & soccer)
HOURS/WEEK
4 - 20 Responsible for complete game control of all officiated sports. Arrive prepared and on time to all scheduled shifts. Maintain an appropriate and professional demeanor at all times. Call all contests with complete honesty and integrity. Manage players and spectators on the playing field. Help patrons learn more about the sport they are participating in. Enforce established rules of the game. Other duties not assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Mental Ability:
Basic understanding of the sport they are officiating.
Education, Certification, Experience:
Previous paid experience as an official or played the sport
Equipment Used:
Sport specific for sports they are officiating
Physical Demands:
Ability to have physical movement of all body parts. Ability to hear ordinary conversation. Ability to talk and communicate appropriately. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to demonstrate fundamentals.
Environmental Demands:
Work indoors and outdoors. Work alone. Be able to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to effectively deal with angry participants. Talk, listen, and give instruction to parents and participants.
