Salary:
$16.00-$18.00/hr

Equestrian Instructor Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years old. Must be able to pass a thorough background check, and obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Education:
Prefer degree in education or related field. Requires experience with youth and horses. Minimum of High School or GED required.
Experience:
Extensive experience in all facets of horse care and training. Self-motivated and energetic. Able to organize, work and plan with minimal supervision. Serves as a role model for students in the care and treatment of animals. Exhibits high ethical values and strong moral turpitude.
Equestrian Instructor Special Requirements:
First Aid Certified Able to satisfy State OBHL and ADE licensing requirement for employment Good individual judgment, discretion and decision making. Ability to maintain State OBHL, ADE, and agency confidentiality requirements. High ethical and professional standards. High level of physical fitness necessary in order to meet the physical requirements of the position
Equestrian Instructor Responsibilities:
Daily feeding of animals including ordering appropriate feed, nutritional supplements, surveying and identifying equipment needs, and teaching and supervising students in the appropriate methods of maintaining healthy animals. Maintaining the general health of animals including daily checks for injuries and illness; medication requirements; administering routine parasite controls, vaccinations, and booster shots; and teaching and supervising students in how to maintain healthy animals. Schedule and aid veterinarians, farriers, and livestock inspectors in order to ensure that our animals are healthy and well maintained. Provide instruction to students in basic, intermediate, and advanced riding skills designed to provide students a safe and therapeutic experience through classroom instruction and basic horsemanship and safety. Promoting the equestrian program through participation in local gymkhanas, parades, Family day programs and MMYTC's Annual Founder's Day Rodeo. Coordinates vocational activities for those students who identify their experience with a potential career in equine care or veterinary assistant.
