JOB DESCRIPTION QUALIFICATIONS
(1) Must be a licensed or credentialed Registered Nurse, Registered Nurse with Operating Room experience, Operating Room Technician or Surgical Technician (scrub tech). (2) BSN Degree or Surgical Technician with an AS or BS Degree preferred. (3) Six (6) years of full time occupational experience in a related vocational field. (4) Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of Surgical Technology curriculum, evaluation of student learning outcomes and performance, and program effectiveness as it relates to instruction and program frameworks. Deliver instruction within a classroom, lab or clinical environment ensuring alignment between clinical experience and curriculum. Knowledge of current trends and best practices in the Health Sciences Program. Knowledge of varied learning styles, skills and pedagogy in using various methods and strategies of learning and challenges post-secondary students beyond the required curriculum. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Competency in problem solving and conflict resolution. Exemplary skill in analyzing, diagnosing, and evaluating student data progress and programs. Skill in redirecting instruction and assigning actions for improvement, academically or socially. Maintain accurate records and documentation and monitor and evaluate student performance and provide feedback. Ability to manage the classroom and supervise students in providing a safe, nurturing environment that stimulates optimal academic, moral and social growth. Demonstrate ability to interact, collaborate, coordinate and share expertise with clinical partners, advisory committees, administration, peers and community. Support recruitment and program outreach efforts. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the district. This position may be required to work beyond a 40-hour work week on an as-needed basis.
