I. TITLE
BILINGUAL
EDUCATION ELEMENTARY TEACHER II. QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Teaching Certificate K-8 Ability to speak, read, and write English and Spanish Strong background in teaching methods, developmentally appropriate classroom activities, and effective classroom management Demonstrate language proficiency and effective teaching methods Strong interpersonal and communications skills Excellent organizational skills Ability to work with students, staff, parents, and the public Professional and positive demeanor Such alternatives to the above qualifications as Idaho Falls School District's School Boardmay find appropriate and acceptable

IV. JOB SUMMARY
Prepare for assigned classes that includes the use of English and Spanish Design lessons with an appropriate level of difficulty which provide content in a logical and sequential manner Employ a variety of instructional techniques in English and Spanish using a variety of media, and meeting the needs and capabilities of the individual or student groups Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and time identified Identify student needs and provide instruction appropriate to those needs Analyze and interpret student data to develop and modify instructional activities as necessary for student growth Follow modifications and accommodations as specified in Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and individual 504 plans Implement the Idaho Core Standards, as well as the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives in lesson plans, classroom instruction, unit planning and assessments Devise written and oral assignments and tests in Spanish and English that require analytical and critical thinking as well as the reproduction of facts and use them to evaluate student progress on a regular basis Prepare students academically for all classroom, school, district, state and federal testing Display command of all subject matter Manage class time effectively
V. OTHER DUTIES FOR STUDENT GROWTH
Encourage students to strive to meet their highest potential Establish, teach and reinforce classroom behavior expectations Teach and reinforce schoolwide behavior expectations Make provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional dayduring consistent office hours Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, their parent/guardian, and administration for behavioral and academic progress of all assigned students Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities Maintain accurate and complete records of academic and behavioral progress as required by federal and state rules and Idaho Falls School District 91Administration and School Board
VI. ROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend and participate in faculty meetings Attend and participate in professional learning communities (PLC) in planning instructional goals, developing curriculum, objectives and methods in Spanish and English Input all data in a timely manner using PowerSchool, and other methods as outlined by the school district, building level administration and the PLC Keep building administration informed of activities and any unusual issues that may arise Assume responsibility for continued professional growth and development by attendance at professional meetings Seek assistance should emergencies arise Adhere to the Code of Ethics of Idaho Teaching Profession adopted by the Professional Standards Commission and the State Board of Education Represent the dual language program, school and district in a positive and professional manner Perform other duties as assigned
VII. OTHER
The exact terms of this position will be determined by the needs of the district and budgetary constraints Benefits will be in accordance with the approved board policy Salary will be in accordance with the placement on the Teacher's Salary Schedule commensurate with years of experience and education as adopted by the negotiated master agreement and board policy
