Job Description

Working under the direction of the Program Director the Clinical Coordinator is responsible for managing the clinical education policiesof the program in compliance with current Joint Review committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Standards. This individualshall support the Program Director to assure effective program operation, coordinate clinical education and evaluate its effectiveness,participate in the on-going assessment process, and maintain current knowledge of radiographic imaging through continuing professionaldevelopment.
Clinical Education Administration:
Upholds program values, policies and procedures. Supervision,orientation and evaluation of students in the clinical setting. Insures ARRT minimum competency requirements are being met bystudents. Informed of JRCERT accreditation standards. Prepares and coordinates clinical rotation schedules. Processes competency-based clinical evaluation forms for grade reporting purposes. Discusses evaluation results with students andevaluating clinical preceptors. Reports mid-term and end-of-semester progress to the Program Director. Maintains records ofstudent attendance and clinical educational progress. Conducts laboratory sessions with students both at the college and clinicalsite. Records and files formal meetings with students. Supervision and orientation of clinical preceptors. Coordinates with JRCERT approved clinical preceptors to provide students with adequate clinical instruction, evaluation, andsupervision. Prepares documentation for RTs to meet JRCERT clinical preceptor requirements. Routinely meets and providesprofessional development for clinical preceptors. Conducts site visits to clinical affiliates. Liaison between students,clinical preceptors, and hospital managers/supervisors. Good customer relations skills; ability to be firm but compassionate. Experience in easily handling constant change. Ability to manage conflict. Ability to maintain confidentiality inall personnel matters.
Didactic Instruction:
Participate in faculty development goals to improve professionaleffectiveness including instructional evaluation processes, the "New Teacher" effective teaching workshop, and other professionaldevelopment opportunities to include a three-year onboarding process. Laboratory and classroom instruction. Studentadvising. Guest lecturer for Allied Health courses.
Administrative Support:
Assist with continuingJRCERT programmatic accreditation. Review and assist with program handbook revisions. Assist with outcome assessmentplan. Organize special events (room reservations, catering, etc.). Program Advisory Committee. Participate inRad Tech Student Club. Participate in student selection. Serve on Department and College committees. Attendand participate in team meetings as scheduled. Assist with program marketing. Performs related duties as required by theProgram Director. Qualifications /
Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field. Current American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification and registration in radiography. Eligible for IdahoState Board of Career-Technical Education teaching credential (or able to obtain one within three years after employment). Proficient in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising. Two years clinical experienceas a radiographer. One year experience as an instructor in a JRCERT accredited program (preferred). Possess superiorskills in dealing with different people courteously and effectively. Ability to work in a team centered environment with a varietyof students and professionals. Possess excellent organizational, coordinating, and bookkeeping skills. Possess excellentwriting skills. Possess critical problem solving skills, solutions, and be a self-motivator. Possess thorough knowledgeof current and developing imaging technologies. Competence in radiation protection practices. Ability to visit variousclinical sites.
