Job Description

Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract An exciting contract opportunity is available for a motivated 4th Grade General Education Teacher to inspire young learners in a supportive elementary school setting near Calumet City, IL. This on-site position begins August 17, 2026, and continues through June 4, 2027, offering a highly rewarding role working with a vibrant group of 4th graders. As a key member of the instructional team, you'll cultivate a dynamic classroom environment that fosters engagement, academic achievement, and personal growth. Collaborate with colleagues, provide individualized support, and implement creative lesson plans aligned with state standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid teaching license and Professional Educator License (PEL) required Bachelor's degree in Education or related field Previous experience in a general education classroom, preferably at the elementary level Strong classroom management and communication skills Passion for student-centered learning and inclusive practices Commitment to professional development and school community involvement
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and effective instruction to 4th grade students Develop lesson plans that address diverse learning needs and abilities Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly Establish a positive, supportive classroom culture Collaborate with grade-level team and other staff on curriculum and school initiatives Communicate with families regarding student progress and classroom activities Participate in school meetings, trainings, and events as required
