Job Description

The University of Pikeville (UPIKE), the Leading University in Central Appalachia, is currently seeking adjunct faculty who are passionate about teaching and student learning for the Patton College of Education. We are currently seeking faculty in the fields of: Curriculum and Instruction Specific Content Areas Instructional Leadership Educational Technology The adjunct professor is expected to teach in the Patton College of Education program while accepting the following responsibilities: Teaching the assigned education course, this includes lecture notes, presentation prep, exam questions prep, and syllabus prep. Participating in and recommending curriculum development and evaluation. Providing educational support for students on an as-need basis. Responsibilities for all other duties as assigned by the Dean or Director of Teacher Education.
Requirements:
Must have a minimum of Rank I (Master's + 30) or EdS in Education. Must have excellent organizational, communication, teaching and decision-making skills. Must have a minimum of five years in a certified position in the P-12 setting. Experience using Canvas and/or other web-based learning platform preferred.
Faculty Expectations:

Adjunct faculty members are encouraged to attend our professional development workshops whenever possible to improve use of educational technology, determine ways to better engage students, and reflect on methods to create the most effective environment for student growth. Positions are available in the spring, summer, and fall semesters. Review of applications occur as needed within each division of the College.
