We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Vocational High School Plumbing Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing, HVAC or Facilities Engineering and a commitment to teaching students practical skills and knowledge that will prepare them for successful careers.Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
Design and implement a comprehensive plumbing curriculum that aligns with MA DESE standards and incorporates hands-on training and real-world applications.Instruction:
Deliver engaging and effective instruction in plumbing concepts, including installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, codes, safety practices, and relevant technologies.Assessment:
Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and practical skills, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.Classroom and Lab Management:
Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.Collaboration:
Work closely with other vocational program instructors to integrate plumbing skills into broader vocational training and ensure students receive a well-rounded education.Professional Development:
Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional practices and stay updated on industry trends and best practices in plumbing.Parent and Community Engagement:
Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and foster relationships with local plumbing businesses and organizations to support student learning and job placement.Advisory Role:
Act as a mentor or advisor to students, assisting them with academic challenges and guiding them in career exploration and job readiness.Position Type:
