$47- � $53� per hour (or Equivalent to LEA salary)\r\n

- \r\n\r\n Main Purpose of Job These School-Based Literacy Coach positions �will serve a critical\r\nrole in improving K-3 reading achievement by providing non-evaluative, job-embedded\r\ninstructional coaching grounded in the Science of Reading using high-quality instructional materials (HQIM).
POSITION DUTIES
\r\n Lead teachers through individual\r\n literacy coaching cycles.\r\n Provides non-evaluative, job-embedded\r\n coaching to strengthen reading instruction aligned to the Science of Reading\r\n and Maryland's Comprehensive PreK-3 Policy (i.e., writing\r\n SRIPs, delivering screeners, etc.).\r\n Supports teachers in delivering\r\n systematic, explicit foundational skills instruction including phonemic\r\n awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.\r\n Models structured literacy practices\r\n through co-teaching, lesson modeling, and elbow coaching and conducts\r\n observations focused on reading instruction and provide targeted, literacy\r\n specific feedback.\r\n Guides and supports teachers in\r\n implementing high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) for reading and in\r\n administering and interpreting early literacy screeners and diagnostics to\r\n select appropriate interventions.�\r\n Delivers professional learning aligned\r\n to the Science of Reading, structured literacy, and HQIM implementation.\r\n Provides training for teachers on\r\n using literacy assessment data to make instructional decisions within an MTSS\r\n literacy framework and facilitates professional learning on evidence-based\r\n interventions, structured literacy instruction, academic routines and\r\n procedures, text complexity, and metacognition.\r\n Builds teacher capacity to deliver\r\n coherent literacy instruction across grade-levels aligned to Maryland's\r\n Comprehensive PreK-3 policy, the Ready to Read Act, and COMAR 13A.03.08\r\n Students At-Risk for Reading Difficulty.\r\n\r\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
���A\r\nMaster's degree or the equivalent of 36 credit hours of post-baccalaureate\r\ncourse work from an accredited college or university.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience:
�Four years of administrative or teaching experience in, or�affiliated with Literacy, Reading and/or\r\nrelated programs in prekindergarten through 12 settings.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nNotes:
\r\n\r\n\r\n Candidates may substitute two additional years of experience\r\n directly related to the position option for the required education.\r\n Candidates may substitute the possession of a Doctorate degree\r\n from an accredited college or university in a field related to the position\r\n option for one year of the required experience.\r\n The required field of education and experience are unique for each\r\n option and are established by MSDE in accordance with Education Article,\r\n Section 2-104 of the Annotated Code of Maryland.��The specific\r\n education and experience qualifications for each position are on record in the\r\n Human Resource Management Branch of the Division of Business Services.\r\n Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service\r\n experience as a commissioned officer in Education Program classifications or\r\n Education Program specialty codes in the Education field of work on a\r\n year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\nDESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference\r\nwill be given to applicants�who possess the following preferred\r\nqualification(s).�Include clear and specific information on your\r\napplication regarding�your qualifications.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Active teacher certification in any state with experience as a\r\n classroom teacher.\r\n Experience supervising and/or coaching\r\n professional education staff.�\r\n Experience with the\r\n Science of Reading, Structured Literacy, associated HQIM and PreK-3 learning\r\n theory and various approaches to instructional coaching.\r\n Experience\r\n working with K-3 reading achievement and Maryland's Comprehensive PreK-3 Policy\r\n Experience\r\n implementing curriculum and evidence-based instructional practices in English\r\n Language Arts and literacy.\r\n Experience with\r\n high impact coaching methods and developing and\r\n facilitating professional learning focused on research-based practices and\r\n evidence-based interventions including professional learning cycles and the MSDE coaching model.\r\n Experience delivering\r\n data-driven literacy instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners.\r\n\r\n\r\nSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must consent to State and\r\nFBI (CJIS) background check as a routine procedure for all employees.\r\n\r\n\r\nThis\r\nposition requires travel throughout the State of Maryland and throughout\r\ndesignated Counties to support teachers within individual school(s) and oversee\r\nthe effective implementation of Literacy initiatives\r\nSELECTION PROCESS
