Brief Job Duties:
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas: Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher and assist in drill and practice activities. + Participate in required workshops by request of the Building Leader, Supervisor, or Director. + Perform academic support for small groups or one-on-one + Assist in the preparation of instructional materials or provide classroom management functions + Alerts the teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student. Certification/License:
Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education ( 022) Criminal History Record Check ( CHRC ), which includes Fingerprints on file with the
Maine Department of Education Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent, plus 3 years of post-secondary education. (60 credits)
Experience:
Successful prior classroom experience or working with students with special needs for the appropriate grade levels is preferred but not required.
