PRIMARY FUNCTION
After School Program Implementation Manage a class of of elementary age youth. Implement programs provided by the organization to promote literacy, math skills, and STEM projects. Create a safe, fun, engaging environment for youth. Help the youth meet academic goals. Record accurate participation data. Assess progress with provided tools. Plan activities, field trips, events and more for this class and/or in partnership with other branches and their classes. Build relationships with local communities. Recruit members and encourage regular involvement.PREFERRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Bachelor of Arts in youth development, education, sociology, or related field Two (2) or more years of experience in community-based youth development programs Knowledge of development and administration of youth programs, staff supervision, event coordination and community partnership Preferred previous Boys & Girls Clubs work experience a plus. Must have and maintain a valid drivers' license and be able to operate a company owned vehicle. Have scheduling flexibility for after school or daytime hours based on school closures and community needs.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to climb stairs, lift at least 50 lbs., be able to stand and sit for long periods of time and be able to walk moderate distances. Occasional repetitive task required. The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities is seeking Educators for our after-school program in Minneapolis, MN! During the school year, our programing runs after school with shifts being between 12pm and 9pm. In the summer, the Club runs during the day to support the needs of the community. Shifts in the summer run between 7am and 5pm. Weekend events and overnight events occasionally occur as well.
