The Role As a Food Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging, hands-on lessons across KS3 and KS4. You'll support students in developing practical cooking skills, understanding food science and nutrition, and promoting healthy lifestyles.
Key responsibilities include:
Teaching Food Technology across KS3 and KS4 Delivering practical cooking lessons alongside food theory Promoting food hygiene, safety, and health & safety standards Supporting students' practical, evaluative, and nutritional understanding Planning differentiated lessons to meet a range of abilities Managing food rooms, equipment, and resources effectively Working collaboratively within the Design Technology department The School This secondary school offers a supportive and structured environment with a strong focus on practical learning. Well-equipped food technology rooms with modern cooking facilities A structured curriculum across KS3 and KS4 Supportive senior leadership and clear expectations A collaborative Design Technology department Strong pastoral care and safeguarding systems Requirements To be considered for this Food Technology Teacher role, you will need: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and/or KS4 Strong knowledge of food hygiene, nutrition, and health & safety Confident classroom and practical lesson management skills A passion for Food Technology and student wellbeing Eligibility to work in the UK A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply This role is suitable for experienced teachers, ECTs, or DT specialists with a Food Technology background.
