Monday- Thursday from 8:45 a.m.-11:30 a.m. the Weeks of 06/08, 06/15, and 06/22. Job Overview Join our vibrant summer camp community as a Summer Camp Culinary Arts Instructor! In this dynamic role, you will inspire and educate children through engaging culinary experiences that foster creativity, teamwork, and a love for cooking. You will design and deliver hands-on cooking lessons, manage classroom activities, and create a fun, safe environment where young learners can explore the art of food preparation. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to combine your culinary expertise with your passion for working with children in a lively summer setting. Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate culinary curriculum that encourages hands-on participation and learning Lead engaging cooking activities that promote teamwork, creativity, and healthy eating habits Manage classroom behavior and ensure safety protocols are followed during all culinary sessions Incorporate elements of arts such as photography, sewing, or theater to enhance the overall educational experience when appropriate Collaborate with other camp staff to plan themed events, performances, or showcases involving culinary arts and related creative disciplines Provide guidance on childhood development principles and adapt lessons for diverse learning needs, including special education or preschool experience Document student progress and provide feedback to parents or guardians as needed Requirements Proven experience in culinary arts, cooking instruction, or related fields with a strong understanding of kitchen safety and food handling procedures Background in teaching or working with children across various age groups, including early childhood education or preschool settings Ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development and classroom management skills Knowledge of classroom experience with behavior management techniques and childhood development principles Skills in photography, sewing, ballet, dancing, theater or other creative arts to enrich the camp experience are a plus Excellent communication skills to work effectively with children, parents, and fellow staff members Flexibility to adapt activities for children with special needs or different learning styles This paid summer position is perfect for energetic educators and culinary enthusiasts eager to make a positive impact through fun-filled learning experiences.
