Lead EMS Instructor Forsyth Technical Community College - 4.1 Winston-Salem, NC Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Google Workspace Medical emergency response Instructor-led training (training delivery method) Paramedic License Productivity software Classroom Teaching Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Forsyth Technical Community College seeks a dedicated and passionate EMS Instructor to join our EMS education team. Under the supervision of the EMS Program Director and EMS Program Coordinator, the EMS Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality didactic and laboratory instruction for Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced EMT (AEMT), and Paramedic courses. Instruction will be conducted within both curriculum-based and continuing education programs in accordance with North Carolina Office of EMS (NC OEMS) and Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP) guidelines. The full-time Instructor is expected to also work with local community partners in EMS and Fire services and may teach at multiple locations within Forsyth and Stokes Counties.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Note:
Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC . Current North Carolina Paramedic credential in good standing with NC OEMS. North Carolina Level I Paramedic Instructor certification through NC OEMS with the ability to obtain Level II Paramedic Instructor within 2 years of hire. At least 3 years of active EMS field experience (education may substitute for years of experience). EMS Vehicle Operator Safety (EVOS) Instructor or equivalent course approved by NC OEMS (or ability to obtain withing 12 months of hire). Strong knowledge of EMS education requirements and current practices. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other relevant software platforms. successful teaching or training experience
Preferred Qualifications Preferred:
Previous experience teaching at a Community College Previous experience with successful student outcomes from program completion to employment placement AHA Instructor credentials in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Familiarity with EMS testing software (e.g., EMS Testing, Platinum Planner, etc.). Experience with Canvas, Blackboard or other learning management systems Teaching certifications in the following: CPR (from American Heart Association), Advanced Cardiac Lift Support, or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.

Teaching and Learning:
Deliver instructional activities that are both appropriate and meaningful. Adhere to departmental course guidelines and cover SACSCOC approved competencies. Maintain communication with community partner agencies. Promote the college and the department through public relations opportunities. Update course descriptions, objectives, and develop new courses, as necessary. Maintain current professional credentials and participate in ongoing professional development. Provide advising assistance to students and participates in department, division, and college-wide advising activities. Learns and maintains proficiency with program requirements to assist students. Associate Dean, EMS Program Director, and EMS Program Coordinator Professional Development:
Develop and implement an approved professional development plan in collaboration with the Associate Dean, EMS Program Director, and EMS Program Coordinator. Maintain current licensure, certification, and professional credentials required for the position. Stay current with advancements in EMS education and technology by attending workshops, conferences, and reading professional literature. Participate in on-campus professional development activities as required. Teach classes as assigned by EMS Program Director and EMS Coordinator.
