Competitive salary, commensurate with qualifications; excellent benefits package. Nine-monthcontract. Possible opportunity for compensated summer teaching.RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach a 12-hour load persemester of on campus and online undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Special Education. Teaching responsibilities include approximately8 courses/24 credits per academic year; Advise and mentor students. Provide service to the College and activelyparticipate in campus life on main campus in Peru, NE; Demonstrate active professional development and contribution to theacademic discipline; Pursue continuous improvement of instructional practices; Implement an active professionaldevelopment/academic discipline contribution plan; Implement student engagement practices in and outside the traditional learningspace; Work effectively with a diverse student population, many of whom are first generation college students.QUALIFICATIONS
Required :
Master's degree in Special Education; Terminal degree required for tenure. Knowledge and experience with federal and State of Nebraska policies and procedures as related to K-12 Special Education isrequired; Teacher certification in Special Education K-12; A minimum of two (2) years of teaching in an accredited orstate approved PK-12 school as a certified teacher; Evidence of effective teaching skills, including teaching via web-basedinstruction; Capacity to conduct research; Experience and/or interest in increasing student success and engagement,particularly of underrepresented students; Evidence of successful collaboration with other professionals within and acrossdepartments at the local, regional, and state levels.Preferred :
Terminal degree in Special Education orclosely-related field; Successful prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level; Knowledge of best practices andprocedures in compliance with Nebraska regulations for P-12 Special Education programs.APPLICATION PROCEDURE
