Summer Camp Kids Cooking Instructor

Responsibilities Deliver age-appropriate cooking lessons that emphasize safety, nutrition, and fun Supervise children during hands-on cooking activities, ensuring proper use of utensils and equipment Manage classroom behavior with positive reinforcement and effective behavior management strategies Maintain a safe environment by adhering to all health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary Collaborate with camp staff to coordinate schedules, activities, and special events related to culinary themes Encourage teamwork, creativity, and communication among campers through group cooking projects Coordinating grocery/cooler transportation to and from classroom. Experience Prior experience working with children in educational settings such as daycare, preschool, or summer camps is highly desirable Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Skills in classroom management and behavior management techniques to create a positive learning environment Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred to ensure safety during activities Background in teaching or tutoring, especially in culinary arts or nutrition, is a plus Enthusiasm for engaging kids through interactive teaching methods such as theater or sports coaching enhances the camp experience
