Job Description

Required :
A Master's degree in Education with a focus on Bilingual Education; or a Master's degree in a closely related field with at least 18 graduate credits in Bilingual Education; or a certificate in Bilingual Education; or a Master's degree in Education with demonstrated bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish, including the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience as approved by the Human Resources Department.
Additional Information:
Adjunct faculty positions are part-time and temporary, filled on a semester-by-semester basis depending on enrollment and program needs.

Located in Carlsbad, New Mexico, Southeast New Mexico College (SENMC) is a newly independent public community college accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Position Summary:
Southeast New Mexico College is seeking applications for bilingual adjunct instructors in Education. Accepted candidates will teach undergraduate education courses based on departmental needs. Adjunct faculty members are responsible for delivering curriculum, providing effective instruction, and assessing student learning in alignment with course outcomes and college standards. Courses may be offered in face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach assigned education courses in accordance with approved syllabi and learning outcomes. Prepare and deliver instruction using appropriate and engaging instructional strategies. Provide instruction and academic support in both English and Spanish, as appropriate. Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress. Communicate regularly with students and respond to inquiries in a timely manner. Comply with college policies, procedures, and academic standards. Participate in required training and departmental meetings, as applicable.
