Global Concepts Charter School is seeking a Special Education Teacher Consultant Teacher and Resource Room Teacher position in a K-8 setting Grades 7-8
Responsibilities:
Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive environment Employ techniques and strategies during instruction to address individualized goals within each student's IEP Modify the general education curriculum for students with disabilities based upon a variety of instructional techniques Meet with parents to discuss their child's progress and to determine priorities for their children and their individualized educational needs Confer with parents, administrators, specialists, related service providers, and other professionals to develop individualized education programs (IEPs) designed to promote students' educational, physical, and social/emotional development Maintain accurate and complete student records and prepare reports as required by law, district policies, and administrative regulations Develop a plan for effective monitoring and collection of data for providing appropriate classroom interventions Develop effective progress monitoring tools to monitor annual goals and issue periodic progress reports Work collaboratively with general education teachers, ENL teachers, and content area specialists Develop lesson plans and supplemental materials compatible to the designated curriculum; establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to students Develop and maintain positive, strong classroom culture Use consistent school-wide practices and individualized methods to engage students in the classroom Strong classroom management abilities Provide differentiated instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student Participate in professional development and coaching, as required Perform related work as required Candidates must possess at least one, preferably more, of the following: NYS Initial or Professional Certification in Students with Disabilities (Birth-2) NYS Initial or Professional Certification in Students with Disabilities (Grades 1-6) NYS Initial or Professional Certification in Students with Disabilities (Grades 7-12) Job Attachment View Attachment Itinerant Location 1001 Ridge Rd.
