POSITION

Building Trades Teacher Maplewood High School

QUALIFICATIONS

Must hold a valid Ohio High School Teaching License (7–12). Work experience in the construction or building trades field is preferred. Must demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills. Must be an effective communicator and motivator. Must possess strong classroom management and leadership skills. Must be willing and able to carry out the duties of the job description. DUTIES:

Provide instruction in areas such as carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, and general construction safety. Plan and deliver lessons aligned with academic standards and industry expectations. Understand and maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines related to Career and Technical Education and pre-apprenticeship programming. Supervise students in both classroom and hands-on shop/lab settings. Maintain a safe, organized, and functional learning environment, ensuring proper use and care of tools and equipment. Support students in building practical skills and exploring potential career pathways in the trades. Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and community partners.
