Description of Position
The College of Education is seeking applicants for an adjunct instructor in the Department of Educational Leadership to teach one or more online classes in the Master of Science Leadership program. The candidate will be required to obtain Northeastern State University's online educator's certification. Teaching assignments are not guaranteed each semester and will be assigned on an as-needed basis.
Primary Responsibility
The successful candidate will teach online graduate education courses in the MS Leadership program as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
- Facilitate asynchronous online courses, guiding learners through pre-designed curriculum.
- Engage students by fostering an interactive and supportive online learning environment, providing timely feedback, and promoting active participation.
- Evaluate assignments based on predetermined criteria and offer constructive feedback for learner growth
- Communicate with students regularly, answering questions promptly, and collaborating with program faculty as needed
Experience
- Minimum of three years of professional leadership experience in relevant industries, including higher education, business, public service, nonprofit, or other professional settings
- Online teaching experience preferred
- Professional and/or academic experience in areas aligned with graduate leadership curriculum, including leadership theory, organizational leadership, and research methods preferred.
- Familiarity with online learning management systems and educational technology tools preferred
Education Requirements
Qualified candidates will hold a master's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in leadership or a closely related discipline, or a terminal degree in a related field.
Non-tenure track
Salary:
$800 per credit hour (typically $2400 per course)
