Desired Candidate Include:
A dynamic educator who brings high expectations, engagement, and creativity to daily lessons that are intentionally designed to teach students to use tools safely and effectively to build useful and challenging products Highly motivated teacher with the ability to engage the 8th and 9th grade students in higher-order thinking, problem solving, real-world connections A track record of success as evidenced by student growth of concepts and procedures in the workshop, student perceptions and relationships, positive communication and relationships with parents and strong recommendation of colleagues and supervisors Create and maintain a positive classroom culture and workshop of high student expectations Ability to contribute strongly to a team, collaborate with colleagues and appropriate others Be self-reflective and participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching Possess confidence in learning and utilizing technology in a blended learning environment (1:1 student/device ratio) to facilitate instruction and as a means of effective two-way communication with students, parents, and other stakeholders (experience with Canvas Learning Management System a plus) Evidence of engaging in high-quality professional development as defined by the Tennessee Department of Education Ability to perform any physical duties associated with this position (e.g., lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, sitting for long periods of time, walking, seeing, standing for extended periods oftime, etc.).
