Job Description

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest is currently accepting applications for an Adjunct Welding/Machining Dual Enrollment Instructor located at Dyersburg High School. This part-time role is offered as a 10-month contract and involves a weekly commitment of 25 hours. The successful candidate will provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom/lab, with significant emphasis on teaching and evaluating students in the classroom. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Technical degree or diploma from an accredited institution Must have at least three (3) years' experience in industry, five (5) years preferred Must be proficient in Oxyacetylene cutting, Plasma Cutting, Oxyacetylene Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) Must be proficient in the use of vertical and horizontal milling machines, manual engine lathes, grinders, drill press, saws, Die sinker EDM, computer numerical controlled (CNC) machines such as Fanuc controllers; Haas Machining Centers and other equipment related to the machine tool industry Possess communication skills necessary to be an effective instructor Show evidence of good character, organizational skills, and a mature attitude Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with students, the public, community & industry partners, and other faculty and staff Skilled in managing deadlines and working in a team-oriented environment Commitment to utilizing technology in teaching/learning experience and willingness to stay up to date in developing instructional technologies Responsibilities Provide instruction to students in all phases of the Welding and Machine Tool program curriculums Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students' progress, maintain student records in the college's student records management software, maintain appropriate documentation, and submit timely reports Ensure compliance with all college policies, accreditation standards, and dual enrollment requirements Collaborate with high school personnel and college program coordinators to support student achievement and program success Participate in required meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities Other duties as assigned by the
President, Vice President, Lead Student Service Coordinator, Dual Enrollment Coordinator and Lead Instructor Salary:
