Job Description

Overview The UTA-EEC Continuing Education department is seeking an experienced and engaging Criminal Justice Instructor to teach non-credit continuing education courses for adult learners. The ideal candidate will possess subject matter expertise in criminal justice and a passion for helping students develop practical knowledge and skills applicable to careers in law enforcement, corrections, private security, legal studies, and related fields. Duties Develop and deliver high-quality non-credit criminal justice courses. Create engaging lesson plans, presentations, and instructional materials. Facilitate classroom discussions and encourage active student participation. Provide a positive and inclusive learning environment for adult learners. Maintain accurate attendance and course records. Communicate effectively with students and Continuing Education staff. Stay current on trends, laws, and best practices within the criminal justice field. Skills Strong knowledge of criminal justice concepts, laws, and procedures with practical application experience Proven ability in teaching adult learners within university or classroom settings Expertise in utilizing learning technology tools to create interactive and accessible course content Excellent classroom management skills to foster an inclusive and disciplined learning environment Experience in curriculum development tailored for adult education audiences Skilled in lesson planning that aligns with educational standards and learner needs Effective working with students from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating patience and adaptability Potential Course Topics Introduction to Evidence Management Crime Scene Documentation Evidence Collection Techniques Evidence Preservation and Storage Legal Procedures and Reporting Introduction to CJ Workplace Environments Professional Communication in Public Safety Settings CJ Documentation and Records Basics Crime Scene Technician Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching, training or workforce development experience degree in Criminal Justice Relevant professional certifications

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
