General Job Duties:
Develop and maintain comprehensive lesson plans based upon formal assessments and student goals, utilizing diverse instructional methods and strategies to meet individual student needs. The ideal candidate must demonstrate confidence in the development and classroom presentation of high school level Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Mathematics. Instruction must produce measurable educational improvements for all assigned students, as evidenced by baseline and progress testing. Furthermore, the instructor is responsible for conducting all activities necessary to secure progress tests for every student upon the completion of 40 hours of instruction. Conduct all activities necessary to meet and surpass all Target Performance Measures. Submit all required documentation and reports in accordance with program guidelines: student-related (attendance reports, assessment, counseling notes, etc. and all staff-related (timesheets, professional development forms, end of year, etc.) Manage classroom behavior. Maintains a thorough working knowledge of and adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations. Compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other documents required in a timely manner. Attend staff meetings, and other Goodwill North Central Texas event/meetings as required. Other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university, valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level (preferred). ESL certification (preferred). Working knowledge of a second language (preferred). Trained in adult learning methodology and a minimum of two years experience working with adults. Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly with individuals from diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with students, staff, and community.
Physical Requirements:
Office environment, mobile, ability to sit for long periods of time, and able to lift 10-15 lbs occasionally. Must have reliable transportation.
