Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university Technology Education, Trades & Industry, or Ag certification Alternative Certification Program applicants must have passed content exam(s) to be eligible for employment According to the LPISD Board adopted District of Innovation (DOI) plan, La Porte ISD may consider nontraditional Career and Technical Education (CTE) candidates who bring authentic field and industry knowledge and skills which would provide students with unparalleled learning experiences. Welding experience is required for this position. May sponsor the Texas High School Welding Series team, if assigned by administration. If not Texas certified, candidates considered may possess a combination of: Professional work experience; Formal training and education; Relevant industry licensure, certification, or registration; and/or any combination of work experience, training and education, or industry credentials related to the subject matter he/she will be teaching.

Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment

Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Regular light lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds); may lift and move textbooks and classroom equipment
Environment:
Shop/lab environment with exposure to welding fumes, noise, and machinery. Work inside, may work inside and outside; regular exposure to noise. Requires strict adherence to PPE and safety procedures.

Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours
Salary:
$63,000 for Beginning teacher with "0" years experience - Salary based on experience $1,000 Master's Degree addenda Additional $1,000 Doctorate Degree addenda The District contributes $400/month to the cost of employee only health insurance, which is $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.
