Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Enhance the educational experience of students by providing crucial support as a Sign Language Interpreter in both elementary and high school settings near the south Atlanta area. This rewarding contract opportunity offers full-time hours, with two positions available for skilled interpreters. As a vital communication bridge, you'll work directly with students and staff to ensure inclusivity and accessibility throughout the school environment.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Holds at least a 3.5 EIPA score, ensuring proficient interpreting for educational settings Eligible for the GaPSC Educational Interpreter Certificate Strong knowledge of American Sign Language and interpreting best practices Previous experience in school-based ASD or mainstream settings is a plus Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills Collaborative mindset for working within diverse multidisciplinary school teams
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret classroom instruction, announcements, and school activities between staff, students, and families Support both elementary and high school students as needed Facilitate clear and accurate communication in both individual and group settings Collaborate with educators to support student learning goals and accessibility plans Promote a positive and respectful environment for deaf and hard-of-hearing students Why Consider This Opportunity?
