Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting high school students as a Sign Language Interpreter. Two full-time contract openings are available, each offering 37.5 hours per week, providing you with a meaningful opportunity to make a daily impact in an educational setting near Snook, TX. You'll provide 1:1 interpreting for high school students, playing a vital part in their academic journey. Your expertise will bridge communication, foster inclusion, and empower students to thrive in their classes and activities.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Sign Language Interpreter credentials Proficiency with Educational interpreting for students An EIPA Score of 3.5 or higher (requirement) Experience working in a school or youth-centered environment preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and supporting student needs
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 interpretation services for high school students during classroom instruction, extracurricular activities, and school events Accurately convey spoken language into American Sign Language and vice versa Collaborate with educators and support staff to facilitate full access to instruction and participation Clarify subject matter and classroom content as appropriate, always maintaining interpreter neutrality and professionalism Observe and communicate any student needs or progress to appropriate school personnel Stay current with best practices in educational interpreting This contract opportunity allows you to devote your skills where they count the most, in a supportive educational community.
