Educational Interpreter - Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. This full-time contract position offers the chance to work directly with a middle school student (8th grade) who is hard of hearing, providing crucial support during the academic year in a 1:1 setting.

Key Qualifications:

Valid Colorado Sign Language Interpreter (CO SLI) license required Proven ability to accurately interpret spoken language into sign for educational purposes Experience working in school settings or with adolescent learners preferred Professionalism, strong communication skills, and adaptability in dynamic classroom environments Collaborative mindset and dedication to supporting students' educational and social growth

Primary Responsibilities:

Serve as a dedicated interpreter for one 8th grade student throughout the school day Facilitate clear and effective communication between the student, classmates, teachers, and staff in all instructional and non-instructional settings Help promote student engagement, comprehension, and inclusion in classroom and school activities Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant school policies and interpreting ethics Collaborate with educational teams and contribute insights to enhance the student's learning experience
