TITLE:
Educational Technician III•PATHS
POSITION OVERVIEW
Portland Public Schools seeks an Educational Technician III to support classes and students in the construction cluster at Portland Arts & Technology High School (PATHS). This position works under the direct and indirect supervision of the PATHS Director in conjunction with program instructors.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In collaboration with the program instructor, the Educational Technician III will: Implement instructional activities in collaboration with individual students or small groups Supervise students on and off campus in school-related programs Meet and confer regularly with the program instructor(s) to implement curricular goals and objectives Develop instructional strategies to meet program and curriculum goals Maintain records and confidentiality regarding student attendance and information required by the school district and employer Perform instructional duties as assigned by the director and instructors Participate in parent and staff meetings as required Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the director may assign
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Approval as an Educational Technician III by the Maine Department of Education; in the alternative, Maine provisional or professional teacher certification Preference will be given to candidates with a college degree that includes nine credit hours related to an education field and to candidates who have at least one year of experience working with students in structured situations
CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Maine State Educational Technician III (023) authorization (more info) Maine State CHRC authorization (fingerprints) (more info) •if you already have an active Ed Tech III certification, you do not need a separate CHRC as this clearance is tied to your certification

School Year, Full Time (1.0 FTE)

Permanent Reports to: School Principal
Contract:
Part of Ed Tech union (see 2024-2027 CBA here)
Salary:
Based on experience, as outlined in CBA
