General Job Description The EHS Assistant provides direct support to the EHS Specialist in carrying out day-to-day environmental, health, and safety activities. This role includes a combination of production floor presence and administrative support to help maintain accurate records, support safety initiatives, and assist in identifying and addressing workplace hazards. The position plays a key support role in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. Key Responsibilities Support daily Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) activities and programs throughout the facility Maintain a visible presence on the production floor to promote safe work practices and identify hazards Conduct routine safety inspections and assist in identifying workplace hazards and unsafe conditions Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action follow-up Assist with employee safety orientations, training programs, and safety communication initiatives Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, and compliance documentation Support PPE compliance, safety audits, and overall safety initiatives Participate in audits, emergency preparedness activities, and continuous improvement projects Help ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and company safety requirements Job Requirements High School diploma or equivalent required 1-2+ years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or EHS environment preferred Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety procedures, and risk assessment processes OSHA 10 certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire Familiarity with JHAs, incident investigations, and corrective action tracking preferred Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and support multiple activities simultaneously
