Job Description

Job Summary The Jewish Institute of Queens-Girls Divisionare seeking passionate and dynamic
Middle and High School:
1/ English Language Arts (ELA) teachers, Grades 7-11 (11th grade includes preparation to Regents) 2/ STEM teacher, Grades 7-11 3/ Science, Grades 7-9 and 12th to inspire students and foster a love for literacy, writing, sciences, STEM and critical thinking. In this role, you will design engaging curricula, implement innovative teaching strategies, and support students in developing their academic and communication skills. Your enthusiasm for education and commitment to student success will help create a vibrant learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and academic growth. Duties Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards Utilize instructional design principles and learning technology tools to enhance classroom engagement and facilitate differentiated instruction for diverse learners. Implement effective classroom management techniques to foster a positive, respectful environment conducive to learning. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide timely feedback to support growth. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and school initiatives to improve educational outcomes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in content area or related field; advanced degrees preferred. Proven classroom experience teaching middle or high school students with a strong background in literacy education/sciences/STEM and classroom management. Expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, proofreading, copy editing, and instructional design. Familiarity with standardized testing protocols, and working with diverse student populations including those requiring special education accommodations. Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor students effectively and collaborate with colleagues. Knowledge of learning technology tools such as educational software platforms and digital resources to enhance instruction.
Schedule & Setting:
45mn sessions, 4 times a week per grade level (between 11:15 AM•4:00 PM•Supportive faculty, professional collaboration, and mission-driven school culture
Pay:
$50,528.25•$70,000.00 per year
