Job Description

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working in unison with the Project Managers, the Controls Designer effectively and efficiently designs the electrical controls equipment for custom chemical feed packages, water and steam sampling/analysis systems, chemical storage & feed tanks and other equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong PLC design background, electrical and instrumentation background and is looking to develop in the mechanical spectrum.
Responsibilities:
Develop, design, implement, and checkout PLC control systems. Develop, design, implement, and checkout sequencer control systems. Develop control panel designs and schematics in Autocad for the control and instrumentation of the pumping equipment. Read and understand detailed technical specifications. Generate detailed Bills of Materials to facilitate the purchase of electrical and controls equipment. Perform electrical function checkout. Occasional on-site commissioning of equipment as required by the customer. Provide training on electrical equipment as required by the customer.
Qualifications:
Two-year electrical engineering or related degree. (3) years of electrical design experience in Autocad (3) years of PLC programming experience in Allen-Bradley RX Logic 5000 and Siemens Simatic platforms Previous HMI screen development Familiarity with pumps, motors, controls, instrumentation, and basic manufacturing techniques. Ability to read and understand detailed technical drawings such as P&ID drawings, general arrangements, electrical schematics, control panel layouts, etc. Strong written and verbal communication skills. A focus towards the company's business model as it relates to profitability. Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as NFPA, NEC, OSHA, etc. Knowledge of power generation and petrochemical processes a plus. Knowledge of fluid dynamics a plus. Experience with
ISO 9001
a plus. Ability to travel domestically and internationally (typically not more than 5%)
