Job Title:
Electrical Drafter Job Description The Electrical Drafter designs and drafts control panel systems, supports the engineering team with testing activities, and manages electronic CAD documentation. This role focuses on creating accurate electrical schematics and panel layouts while maintaining an organized CAD library and filing system to support a variety of project-based work across multiple industries, including a growing presence in life sciences. Responsibilities Design and draft control panel systems in accordance with project specifications and engineering standards. Create and update electrical schematics, panel layouts, and related technical drawings using AutoCAD. Assist the engineering team with control panel testing and make drawing updates based on test results and feedback. Manage and grow the CAD library of hardware components to ensure accuracy and consistency across projects. Maintain and manage the electronic CAD filing system on the corporate network for assigned projects, ensuring files are organized and up to date. Interpret and work from electrical schematics, P&ID diagrams, and loop drawings where applicable. Collaborate with engineers and other team members in a deadline-driven, project-based environment to meet project milestones. Support multiple industry projects, adapting drawings and documentation to meet varying customer and regulatory requirements. Essential Skills Proficient use of AutoCAD for electrical design and drafting. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics. Experience with control panel design and drafting. Understanding of control panel components and layout considerations. Ability to work accurately with technical drawings and documentation in a project-based environment. Strong organizational skills for managing CAD libraries and electronic filing systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with SolidWorks Electrical. Familiarity with P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams). Experience creating or interpreting loop drawings. Interest in supporting projects across multiple industries, including life sciences. Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, laid-back team environment. Work Environment This is a fully onsite role, working five days per week in a project-based environment. You will collaborate closely with engineers and technical staff while using AutoCAD and potentially SolidWorks Electrical to support multiple industry projects, including a rapidly growing life sciences division. The culture is laid back yet deadline-driven, offering an excellent opportunity to build a strong portfolio of control panel and electrical drafting work and to gain exposure to a variety of industries. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Mansfield, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr.
