As the Electrical Engineer I, you'll be a vital part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team that ensures safe, reliable, and future‑ready electrical systems across our utility plants and campus facilities. Qualifications Education/Training
Work generally requires a bachelor's degree in an electrical engineering field.
OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.
Experience Work requires a minimum of three years' experience in design, planning, maintenance, and evaluation in facility electrical systems. Experience in a utility plant setting preferredOR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Be Bold.What You'll Do:
- Coordinate and monitor maintenance and renovation of all University utility plant electrical systems.
- Attend weekly plant coordination meetings and collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams.
- Develop utility shutdown request forms, including full lists of impacted equipment, and communicate impacts to operations teams.
- Develop and supervise electrical switching procedures for construction or maintenance projects.
- Troubleshoot electrical distribution systems and equipment within utility plants.
- Prepare reports and analyses outlining progress, trends, and recommended improvements to plant electrical systems.
- Conduct plant walk‑throughs to identify and address operational issues.
- Update electrical training modules and train operations/maintenance staff.
- Use the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage inventory and maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate one‑line diagrams and electrical panel schedules for utility plants.
