Job Description
Electrical Foreman 4+ years Exp SST required Job Description The Electrical Foreman oversees and performs advanced electrical installations, troubleshooting, and system commissioning on high-end retail and large commercial projects. This role combines hands-on field work with leadership responsibilities, ensuring that all electrical systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with NYC and National Electrical Codes. The Electrical Foreman interprets complex electrical drawings and coordinates work to meet project specifications, quality standards, and deadlines. Responsibilities Bend, thread, and install EMT, aluminum, and galvanized conduit from 1/2" through 4" using manual and hydraulic benders. Operate pulling machines, threading tools, hydraulic benders, and related electrical installation equipment safely and efficiently. Read and interpret electrical drawings, reflected ceiling plans (RCPs), elevations, and dimensions to plan and execute installations accurately. Pull wire, mount boxes, and install troughs and wiremold to support complete electrical distribution systems. Wire and install receptacles, lighting fixtures, switching devices, and dimming systems, ensuring proper function and code compliance. Install, program, and troubleshoot dimming systems and associated control components. Install and wire fire alarm systems, including reading fire alarm schematics, pulling fire alarm cable, and installing devices in accordance with NYC Fire Alarm Essential Skills Proficient in bending, threading, and installing EMT, aluminum, and galvanized conduit from 1/2" through 4". Full operational skills with pulling machines, threading tools, and hydraulic benders. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, RCPs, elevations, and dimensions accurately. Strong experience with wiring and installing receptacles, lighting, switching, and dimming systems. Ability to install and troubleshoot 3-way and 4-way switching and diagnose electrical faults, shorts, and poor connections. Hands-on experience with fire alarm systems, including reading schematics, wiring, device installation, and knowledge of NYC Fire Alarm Code. Experience with data cabling, including Cat6 and RJ45 terminations. Good knowledge of condensing units, air handlers, and condensate pumps from an electrical standpoint. Comprehensive knowledge of electrical panels, live parts, live work practices, and electrical safety.

Osha Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience wiring office fit-out spaces and high-end retail or large commercial projects. Basic to advanced knowledge of conduit bending formulas and hydraulic bender operation. Familiarity with AWG sizes to at least #6 and larger conductors up to MCM. Experience installing troughs, wiremold, disconnect switches, meter banks, and related distribution equipment. Basic to advanced understanding of mechanical equipment wiring, including condensing units, air handlers, and condensate pumps. Ability to interpret and implement project specifications and coordinate with other trades on site. Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and ability to start work early in the day. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a field team. Work Environment This role is based on active construction sites in and around Carteret, NJ, with a typical start time of 6:00 AM. You will work for a large private commercial electrical contractor focused on high-end retail and large commercial projects, often in coordination with major general contractors. The environment is fast-paced and field-oriented, requiring the use of standard electrical tools and equipment such as pulling machines, threading tools, hydraulic benders, and test instruments. Work is primarily on-site rather than in an office, with exposure to typical construction conditions including noise, varying temperatures, and physical activity such as lifting, bending, and working on ladders or lifts. Appropriate workwear and personal protective equipment are required at all times to maintain a safe and professional job site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carteret, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $37.00/hr.
