They will work in the Purchasing Department and report directly to the Purchasing Manager. They will also work directly with Shipping/Receiving and the Inventory Control Specialist on the production floor as needed to complete their duties. The ideal candidate will also be a backup to shipping/receiving when they are out or during busy times.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Ordering parts as needed to maintain stock levels, as well as assessing vendor lead times and keeping track of them to make sure that all items are in house to prevent production delays.
• Creating part numbers and doing product research as needed when new items are requested that have not been ordered before.
• Updating prices and lead times in the system, as well as updating Excel Spreadsheets for the production floor with items ordered and estimated lead times.
• Following up on orders to make sure they are confirmed from the vendor, tracking down past due orders, working with vendors to resolve lost or damaged orders in a timely manner.
• Assist with other supporting roles within the Purchasing Department as needed.
• Act as a support role to shipping/receiving when they are out or during busy times.
