Adecco is seeking an experienced Electrical Specialist to join a team at the New Castle Generating Station in West Pittsburgh, PA. This is a direct hire opportunity driven by a planned retirement, offering long-term stability at a modernized natural gas facility. Originally a coal plant, the station was transformed in 2016 into a natural gas facility and now operates with three gas-fired steam boilers, producing up to 328 MW. The site utilizes B&W Boilers, Westinghouse Steam Turbine Generators, and an ABB DCS control system.Position Summary:
The Electrical Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining plant reliability and safety. This position is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of electrical systems including motors, generators, transformers, and high-voltage equipment. This role also supports preventive maintenance, emergency response, and electrical safety initiatives.Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment Work on motors, generators, transformers, switchgear, and control systems Perform maintenance on high-voltage systems (480V-13.8KV) and switchyard equipment Execute electrical isolations following established safety procedures Support and promote electrical safety programs and training Assist with preventive maintenance and respond to plant emergencies as needed Maintain accurate documentation andmunicate effectively with team membersQualifications:
High school diploma or trade school certification (or equivalent) Minimum 4 years of journeyman electrician experience preferred Experience in power generation or heavy industrial environments strongly preferred Strong knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshooting, and repair Experience working with high-voltage equipment and safety protocols Ability to interpret technical procedures and instructions Stronganizational andputer skills Valid driver's license requiredAdditional Information:
Candidates must pass aprehensive electrical assessment prior to hire The test (up to 3 hours) includes advanced electrical concepts such as Kirchhoff's Law and Ohm's Law Candidates are encouraged to prepare using standard electrical reference materials (e.g., "Ugly's" Electrical References) Why Join Adecco?
