DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on general electrical work in various buildings and surrounding grounds at Fort Indiantown Gap. As a Electrician 1, you will perform the following duties:

Electrical Installation:

Install and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures

System Repair:

Locate and correct power failures and short circuits

Line and Conduit Work:

Run new electrical lines and lay out conduits including measuring, cutting, and bending

Fixture and Unit Service:

Install lighting fixtures, replace components, and service air conditioning units

Blueprint Reading:

Read blueprints and install wiring according to instructions

Tool Maintenance:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational changes. Overtime as needed This position is considered essential and will be required to work during emergencies and office closings.

You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Successful completion of the Electrician Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.

Additional Requirements:

You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap Air National Guard Airbase. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
