Full‑Time / Year‑Long Project Job Summary We are seeking a licensed Journeyman Electrician with experience in battery energy storage system (BESS) construction to support a long‑term utility‑scale project in Fort Morgan, Colorado. This role includes installing, assembling, testing, and maintaining electrical systems associated with large‑scale battery storage equipment. The Journeyman Electrician will work closely with foremen, project managers, and apprentices to ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with NEC and local codes. Key Responsibilities BESS electrical installation — Install, terminate, and test wiring and equipment for BESS systems AC/DC system work — Work on battery racks, PCS/inverters, switchgear, transformers, and disconnects Blueprint interpretation — Read and interpret electrical drawings, one‑lines, and schematics Conduit installation — Bend and install EMT, PVC, and Rigid conduit Grounding and bonding — Verify compliance with NEC and project standards Troubleshooting — Diagnose and resolve issues during installation and commissioning Battery module support — Assist with module installation, cable routing, and system integration Apprentice supervision — Mentor and support apprentices Safety compliance — Follow NEC, OSHA, and AHJ requirements Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite Participate in daily safety meetings and follow all site protocols Required Qualifications Active Journeyman Electrician License (Colorado) 3-5 years commercial or industrial electrical experience Previous BESS, solar, or renewable energy experience preferred Strong understanding of the NEC (current edition) Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications Experience with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Preferred Qualifications Utility‑scale BESS experience Experience working on energized systems OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Ability to lead small crews or work independently Work Environment & Schedule Outdoor construction site Full‑time hours with consistent long‑term workload Overtime opportunities depending on project phase Local candidates strongly encouraged Compensation & Benefits (may vary by employer) Competitive hourly pay based on experience Weekly pay Overtime opportunities Long‑term employment on a major renewable energy storage project Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fort Morgan, CO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $66.00 - $66.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
